Stories from Hamburg

Lately I've heard a lot about Hamburg, how awesome it is and I was curious to see it with my own eyes. Being in Berlin these days, was the perfect moment to do it. I bought train tickets and here I am in a train going to Hamburg. With my book, enjoying a 2h train ride  The weather was not favorable to me, but I still have all my fingers. I must say, the rainy day enhanced the colors of this city. I was not kidding about the cold It took me a few time to get used with the temperature, but after that I forgot it was cold. I had set in mind to see the canals. I came here for that. I read some articles about this and I was impressed. It's said that it has more than Venice or Amsterdam. From what I've seen, it looks a lot with both of them, but on a different scale. If in the two cities mentioned the buildings are not so tall, here we find massive constructions. #wanderlust #urbanphotography #enthusiastictraveller A post shared by Madalina G. (@gmadalina92)...

Greetings from Pantelimon

When I'm thinking this morning I didn't want to wake up at 5.30am... The reason I wake up so early was the Bucharest Marathon which is happening this weekend. I'm not participating as a contestant, but as a volunteer. I was allocated to the finish to hand the medals to the participants of the races. Today were the fun race, the teen race and kid's races and I've learned from kid's races which are not sprinting contests that everyone is a winner, it's up to each one to see it. #saturdaymorning #teenrace #voluntarinsport #bucharestrunningclub #mib2017 A post shared by Madalina G. I like to explore my city and the...

When in Rome...

If you read the title you might think the story is about a man and a woman who fall in love. It's not. It's a story of two men and a woman. Haha.. Kidding. No, seriously, it is about two men and a woman but it's not a love story. There is a say: all roads lead to Rome. Well, our characters came on separate ways: one man came  from Bucharest with a morning flight, the woman from Bucharest too, but with an evening flight and the other man from London, with an evening flight. First day started with a visit to Vatican Museums. Lucky us, we bought online tickets and skipped a huge queue at the entrance. I recommend you to do that if you plan to visit it. We planned our visit in the morning to avoid crowds. Many thought the same. The place is amazing if weren't the people. I really hate crowded places. I can't enjoy fully. For example, I didn't find very interesting the Sistine Chapel, mostly because you couldn't move at all once you are in there. The museum ...

Last days in Lefkada

This morning, on my way to the office I was thinking on how much money I have spent this year on holidays, and the amount is significant. I could have invested that money in material things, such as a car (my mom would have been very happy), but I choose to invest in experiences. Yeah.. the future might not be so bright, but I will handle it at the proper time. Meanwhile, some words about the last days in Lefkada. In my previous post I was describing some stunning beaches we've explored. I will continue with another one, the most adventurous to get to and wildest by far. Let me present, Milos beach. Do not be fooled by Google Maps directions. To get to that beach you need to go to  Agios Nikitas, park the car and get ready for adventure.  Challange #1: climb the stairs   Challange #2: when you finish with the stairs, you will end up on a mountain trail. Keep going! On your right you will see Agios Nikitas beach. You're not there yet. A...
