Ubud - Yoga, coffee & rice fields

After a 2h bumpy boat trip from Gili T and a 2h drive with the car from Padang Bai port, here we are in Ubud, back to Bali. The boat ticket from Gili T was 250000 IDR (~15.5EUR) and included shuttle service from the port to our accommodation in Ubud. I have to admit I was nervous about getting back to Bali. I got used with the chill vibes from the islands and I wanted to keep that peaceful feeling for as much time as possible. When we debarked we were harassed by taxi drivers. Fortunately, Ubud surprised me with its zen feeling. I've never felt so calm! Too bad we couldn't enjoy the pool due to the rain It was already afternoon when we checked in. Bali coffee After the late lunch we went for a walk. The weather was not on our side that evening. Despite the heavy raining we were able to enjoy the city. Ubud market The city doesn't stop to amaze me! I love its small shops with local design products. Quiet street with small shops At first I thought only t

Gili Islands - Don't judge a book by its cover

Hello, my dear reader! How are you today? Please take your time to read this post. In the past 3 days we've been in Gili Trawangan, the largest of Gili islands. From Lembongan we took a fast boat which had one stop in Bali. The ticket was 450000 IDR (~28 EUR) and the ride took ~2.5h. It was a smooth journey. We watched movies the entire time. I have to admit Gili T doesn't look as I pictured. The island was severely affected by the major earthquake from August and it's still recovering. If you put aside this aspect and enjoy the simplicity of this place, you will find your inner peace. Ruins after the earthquake Some people left after the earthquake, others stayed to protect their business. Most streets look like this one. From place to place the street is paved The cool thing about this island is that there are no motors! The transportation available is by foot, by bike or by horse drawn carriage. We tried the first two options. At the property where we stayed

Nusa Islands - the real good place

§ Day 1 - Nusa Lembongan & Ceningan To reach Nusa Lembongan we took a fast boat from Sanur port. One way ticket was 200000 IDR (~12 EUR) and the ride was around 30 minutes. The ride was itself an experience.  Photo from the harbour When we left from Kuta, it started to rain. With one of these boats we crossed the water We arrived quite early at the accommodation and the room was not ready yet. This time the property was splendid! As it was advertised on pictures. If you wander how much it was, we payed for two nights only 37EUR. With a pool, of course From the property we rented a scooter. Thanks to Victor for convincing me to do that! On the islands the only way of transportation is either by walking either by scooters. This way we covered a large area of Nusa Lembongan and the whole Nusa Ceningan. By the way, our accommodation was on Nusa Lembongan. The two islands are connected through the Yellow bridge. The Yellow bridge! On Nusa Ceningan we went searc
