Vasiliki - The Town of cats

It's been a while since my last holiday. For a week I will enjoy the Greek Island, Lefkada. I arrived here by plane. The nearest airport is Aktion, Preveza. The flight from Bucharest was 1h30. Usually I don't look out the window during the flight but this time I captured some nice landscapes, above Bucharest and Lefkada. Lacul Morii - heart-shaped view above the clouds Not sure what islands are these but they look pretty cool from the sky. The blue of the sea is amazing. Some history facts: the ancient Greeks didn't have a word for the blue color for some time, but they weren't color blind. From the airport we've rented a car to take us to Vasiliki, where we have accommodation. We were a little bit nervous regarding the car rental. We read a lot of terms and conditions before our arrival: the driver needs to own a credit card in order to pay, the deposits are quite huge. None of those were taken in account. We were able to pay with my credit card (I do n...

NOS Alive'17

Intro It all started few months ago, when Depeche Mode announced they will play in Cluj. I missed them last time when they were in Bucharest and I was determined not to miss them again. From curiosity, I've checked were else they will be playing and from all cities, Lisbon appeared highlighted in my eyes. I wanted to go to Lisbon for quite a while. This is how I learnt about the NOS Alive festival. Meanwhile, I discovered other bands from the lineup: The XX, Alt-J, Bonobo, Glass Animals. In the end I bought a 3-day ticket. Day 1 - The arrival I flew to Lisbon with Tap Portugal and I was impressed they were offering pillows and blankets to all passengers for a more comfortable flight. As I arrived early in the morning, I had a few hours to explore the surrounding area before check in at the hotel. At the first sight, I was a little bit disappointed. I had in mind a different image. I found old buildings and deteriorated. The colored tiles are making them look a little bit nic...

Rediscovering Ghent

So, yesterday I went for the second time, after three years to Ghent. I wanted to write something about it last night, but I was too tired. 20 km walking by the canals were exhausting, but pleasant. Now I have some time to kill in the airport, as my flight back to Bucharest has 3h delay. What better thing to do than writing.  The trip to Ghent from Brussels took 30 minutes by train. I remember it being longer, probably because last time when I was there I took a train which stopped in each station. At the arrival the weather was not so great, at least it was not raining. Bikes, some graffitti, tramways on the way to the city center Same here Romantic view in the city center After wandering around a little bit, we've got to this medieval castle where we've spent some time. What I've liked most at it, was the organisation. The places inside are numbered and you have a direction to visit it. The Count Castle Je m'en fiche! View from the tower...
