When in Rome...

If you read the title you might think the story is about a man and a woman who fall in love. It's not. It's a story of two men and a woman. Haha.. Kidding. No, seriously, it is about two men and a woman but it's not a love story. There is a say: all roads lead to Rome. Well, our characters came on separate ways: one man came  from Bucharest with a morning flight, the woman from Bucharest too, but with an evening flight and the other man from London, with an evening flight. First day started with a visit to Vatican Museums. Lucky us, we bought online tickets and skipped a huge queue at the entrance. I recommend you to do that if you plan to visit it. We planned our visit in the morning to avoid crowds. Many thought the same. The place is amazing if weren't the people. I really hate crowded places. I can't enjoy fully. For example, I didn't find very interesting the Sistine Chapel, mostly because you couldn't move at all once you are in there. The museum

Last days in Lefkada

This morning, on my way to the office I was thinking on how much money I have spent this year on holidays, and the amount is significant. I could have invested that money in material things, such as a car (my mom would have been very happy), but I choose to invest in experiences. Yeah.. the future might not be so bright, but I will handle it at the proper time. Meanwhile, some words about the last days in Lefkada. In my previous post I was describing some stunning beaches we've explored. I will continue with another one, the most adventurous to get to and wildest by far. Let me present, Milos beach. Do not be fooled by Google Maps directions. To get to that beach you need to go to  Agios Nikitas, park the car and get ready for adventure.  Challange #1: climb the stairs   Challange #2: when you finish with the stairs, you will end up on a mountain trail. Keep going! On your right you will see Agios Nikitas beach. You're not there yet. And voila! T

Turquoise gems of Lefkada

This is that kind of holiday when you lay down all day on the beach. If you search on TripAdvisor for things to do in Lefkada it will show you only beaches. I will take advantage of this cloudy day and write about the beaches we explored in the past days. All the beaches I'm going to talk about are located on the west coast of the island. To get there you need to cross the mountains. The views are breathtaking but the roads are very poor. Our little car had some rough time. The mountains and the sea meeting in background  First destination: Porto Katsiki. This beach is with white stones and crystal-clear water. I am amazed of the turquoise color of the water and wandering from where comes this color. The explanation I got this far is that the white stones reflect the sunlight. Talking about stones. This beach has plenty of them. I recommend you to take water shoes otherwise you might cut yourself on the sharp rocks. I didn't have one of those when we went to Porto K
